This and That
Some of you have probably seen pictures of progress on the house on Seth's and Jim's blog, but I figured it was time for me to update on the house as well. Things are getting more exciting around here all the time as the house continues to come together. Jim and the boys put up all of the facia, barge, and trim boards and then began work on the shingles.
Titus has been their little "go-fer" saving them thousands of steps up and down the scaffolding and ladders, etc. He's been a huge help, enabling them to keep their focus on putting the roof on.
Isn't that a beautiful valley? They are doing such a great job!
A roof is really changing the whole look of the house.
Meanwhile, Tom and Pumpkin are still trying to learn how to live together under the same (only different) roof. Not an easy task for either one of them!
And a picture from my birthday. Among other things, my family gave me a roaster (which will be fun to use at Thanksgiving and other times when we serve large groups of people) and a large griddle which Titus wanted to put to use right away for pancakes, eggs, and bacon.

Great post Mom!
The boys and Dad have gotten a lot of work done on the roof lately haven't they? I like to watch them when they work on the roof. (and when there is somthing that I can do I am glad). Pumpkin and Tom are having a hard time getting along.

Happy Birthday to you! I want a report on how the roaster works, looks really handy.
Nothing like that would ever happen to you though anyway, would it?
Happy birthday by the way. My mom and dad gave us one of those for Christmas. Karen warned me they cook a little faster and I found she's right. The really great thing is they don't heat up hte kitchen like the oven does, so I used it in the summer a few times.
When I quickly scanned this post earlier today (during a break at work) my brain stumbled over the revelation that your family had gotten you a rooster for your birthday...
...I declined to explain to my cube-mates why I was chuckling to/at myself upon re-reading it & discovering my error.
That's also why you only got eProps from me earlier...
Happy Birthday!!!! I have a large griddle and LOVE it!!!
OK now that's really getting out of hand -- knoxmemories has a large girdle, and loves it?!?!?

Nonononono!
I think I'd better go to bed now, before my brain twists something important and gets me into some kind of trouble...
I LOVE that picture of Tom and Pumpkin!
You need to roast a turkey or something in your roaster soon.
Oh wow, Happy Belated Birthday!!! I hope it was an AMAZING one!!!
The shingles look awesome - good job, fellas!!
lol Tom and Pumpkin...so cute.
Ah; you know me so well!
...and I probably would have gone down that exact path too, if that silly rooster hadn't shown up when he did!
haha, that is funny... we got my mom the same kind of roaster AND the same kind of griddle... family-size... it must be something about good cooks' birthdays!!
Happy birthday!!! The progress on the roof looks so exciting!
I watched the noon news and the brunt of the storm is going hit a little later in the afternoon then they first thought. The strong winds are only supposed to last 2-3 hours. I'm so glad Claire has the day off and I don't have to drive in the worst of it.
P.S.
I hope none of your family gets caught in it either. Is Jim working today? Good thing your roof is on.
My dad's sister.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Hmm... thinking about it more I see your point. There's c ertainly no place for the gratuitously wrong in a Christian l ife. But at the same time, I do think that unhappiness is a part of reality, and that it's as valid a topic for art as happiness. And sorry if I was snarky before.
Oohh not at all. I'll still be around. Don't worry.
The house is coming along very nicely! Happy belated birthday!!
Oh a roaster!!
THANKS for commenting on my blog... I read your comments too on Rachel's blog.. and Kiersten's too?? Am I right? It's hard to remember sometimes... iter-net is so anonymous...
