  • Sniffles

I'm sick today. I have a cold. My eyes feel like they are buzzing and there is a funny humming sensation behind my nose. (I'm not sure why I wrote that other than the fact that they are difficult sensations to ignore). I decided to stay home from church so as not to share my germs. I listened to a church service, read my Bible and have been playing hymns, but it still doesn't feel like the Lord's Day. The family is going over to some friends' house for lunch and then back to the evening service so it will be a long, lonely, quiet day here at home. I'm looking at the clock and it is only 10:44 a.m. That means everyone won't be home for another nine hours!  Oh, bother. Well, I guess I will go listen to another church service, read my Bible some more and maybe take a nap. Cheers! (Lifts herbal tea cup).

  • I hope you feel better soon!

  • Yes, it sure doesn't feel much like a Lord's Day without you! The sermon was very good, I'll fill you in with all the details later. He spoke on husbands loving their wives as Christ loves the church and gives Himself for her, and how the wife will willingly and cheerfully submit to a husband who is fulfilling those duties in love and self-sacrifice. It spoke to me very much, and one I hope our boys will dwell on for many years to come. Love you!

  • Sorry that you are not feeling well.  I hope and pray that you and God have an awesome time, just the two of you.

  • I sure hope you get better soon. I wish you could have come to church with us. I missed sitting by you today. I hope you are not sick for Grandpa's surgery tomorrow. The sermon was very good. I wish you were here.

  • So that's where you are and what you're up to. Claire tagged along with Tasha today.  Sundays when you're home alone till everyone is home from evening service feel about eight times as long as they really are, I know. Get the rest you need and I hope your dad's surgery goes well tomorrow.

  • Hope you're well soon, & that all goes well for your Dad tomorrow!

  • Re prayer for pastors:

I agree, their tasks are not easy ones.  I wish more people realized that.  But, God is gracious, and He will take care of them.  Our job is to pray for them...why is that so easy to forget?  Prayer for a fellow Christian is the easiest thing in the world to do, yet it seems to be the easiest to forget.  Sigh...

When I talk to Craig (he is on sabatical this week), I will be sure to tell him that "Goldilocks" is praying for him.  Heheheh - that should get his attention, don't you think?

  • Me, one more time...

I have been meaning to tell you, from your posts and comment, you remind me very much of my closest friend here in town.  Maybe, one day God will allow for our paths to cross.

Hope that you had a wonderful day with God, yesterday.

  • Aww, I hope you feel better very very soon!

My mom always tells me when I have a cold to gargle with apple cider vinegar every couple hours - it kills the germs in your throat and helps zap the sore throat!

  • Sorry you're unwell, any better today?

  • Glad you're feeling better.

Please sign Claire's name to the card.

  • Excellent! (regarding both your own recovery and what your Dad's having done)

My Mom's Dad had "scarlet fever" whe he was a small child, which damaged both his vocal chords and his hearing so that his speech was very similar to your Dad's. I caught myself & had to continue to make a conscious effort (laughing at myself the whole time) *not* to SPEAK REALLY LOUDLY to your Dad, because he sounded so much like Grandpa... I think it's wonderful that they can do something about it in his case, and will continue to pray that all goes well!

  • I think I'm getting a cold as well. And yes I did go to da cabin so that's why I haven't replied. Apple donuts ARE good... I didn't get to go to apple hill so I didn't get fat on any of the stuff that I was hoping for :(

    Hope you feel better!

  • I have had a cold for THREE WEEKS! But I still go places. It might be seasonal allergies, I am told.

  • I hope you get completely better! And yes, I had fun at Heritage! I told you all about it, didn't I?

  • I hope you are feeling better!

  • Aww I'm glad you enjoyed it! How's the cold?

  • How did the surgery go and did you make it to the shower?

  • oh im sorry to hear you are sick Mrs. U! are you feeling any better today?

i am doing quite well...busy busy with school and work though, yes ;) its a lot but interesting at least!

how is your house remodel coming along? ...my mom is remodeling our entire yard..its crazy. in the back she is building this huge canopy that goes from our house to almost the edge of our deck..then in the front she is relandscaping the whole thing! its crazy..always hammering lol...so i spend a lot of time at various coffee shops in town to study ..its fun though. i like the coffee shop environment.

do feel better soon!!! *hugs* ..

  • Nope, no stitches. It was mostly just freaky having needles and knives and things poking around in my blind spot. *shudder* How are you feeling? We missed you on Sunday!

  • Cheers! Sounds like you're not any better at staying home alone & resting than I am!
