Potpourri
Here are some pictures of our two cats, Tom (the furry one) and Pumpkin. They both seem to be suffering some post-sunroom demolition depression and disorientation. They were used to spending quite a lot of time out in the sunroom soaking up the rays. Now they can be out there, but all their favorite nooks and crannies are gone, having been replaced by sheetrock dust, splinters, and nails.
My dad always says about Pumpkin, "When God was handing out brains, Pumpky thought He said 'trains' and so he missed his." So true, so true. Poor kitty.
Everything is topsy turvy.
Where did my sunroom go?
We finally had Jim's birthday dinner (homemade chicken enchiladas) and he opened his gifts last night. His birthday was a month ago, but all of the kids have been so busy working and our calendar has been booked in other ways as well, so his celebration kept getting bumped. My dad took this picture of our family at the end of the evening. The beautiful young lady sitting to Jim's right is our "oldest daughter", Jules.
My Christmas cactus is in full bloom now! I must admire it a dozen times a day. I'm absolutely in awe of it.

Poor bewildered kitties. I guess they'll find new favourite spots soon enough
Poor cats! Ours are so funny when there are big changes.
*sniff* poor pumpkin is so abused. he is such a sweetheart
Hi! Thanks for the encouragement! I have started to think about getting back to xanga a little... I've just been away at camps for the majority of the last month. (I just got back from a two week one in VA at PHC. =) It was so incredibly fun and exhausting all mixed together.) Hope you're enjoying your summer!!

Emma and Elizabeth always choose enchiladas for their birthday dinners.
Pumpkin doesn't care where he sleeps, as long as he can sleep.
Poor puddies. We have a Hank dog that missed out on the brains too.
Looks like a fun birthday party. I'm impressed by your cactus, I'm a houseplant's worst nightmare.
It may take a while, but I'm sure Tom & Pumpkin will adapt; especially once the dust has finally settled!
Love the Phamily Foto, and the cactus looks nice, too!
Excellent post Mom!
I like all the pictures Mom! Especially the one of Tom and he is looking around his old sunroom. and the other one of Pumpkin and Grandpa's joke with it. The one "When God was handing out brains Pumpkin thought he said trains and missed his. and the picture of the whole family (and your eldest daughter Jules). and last of all the picture of your CHRISTMAS CACTUS!

We have two pretty funny kitties. I wonder if Pumpkin even knew it was there. Maybe when it was gone he just thought it looked a little different. = ) Tom probably doesn't like us at all now but he likes being in the house so that's why he's being sweet.
The Christmas Cactus is beautiful! I like looking at it when I'm playing the piano. I like my 'oldest' sister a lot.
Love Abigail
So THAT'S what a Christmas cactus should look like!
Pretty helpful piece of writing, thanks so much for your post.
