  • Everybody Dance!

Saturday night, our church had a Scottish country dance. There were 60+ people in attendance and we all had a great time dancing for three hours. I've been trying to upload a one-minute video clip that Jim took of the 'Virginia Reel', but it refuses to load, so I'm posting a few pictures instead.

Isaac, Taylor, and Fraser are impatient for the dancing to begin. Brad is reminding them that this is Scottish country dancing. :)

Tasha twirls for the 50thish time. It was quite amazing that she was still standing up at the end of the night!

I think they are getting the hang of it...

    Everyone had a ball!

  • Looks like a good dance! thanks for the pics and commentary :)

  • That dance was a lot of fun!

  • It looks like you all had a great time!

  • Awww what fun! Tell you what, this time of year is perfect for dancing. That second picture is my favorite - it looks like those guys have great senses of humor.

Ooohh man, I wish we had been able to see more of London then what we saw. We were only there for three days, and we were all sluggish as a result of six-seven days in Paris. We did get a chance to spend a good bit of time in Westminster Abbey and the big sites like that, but we didn't have time to get down into the deep, deep history within the city.

  • they call is a ball for a reason.

Twirling and I do not go together well, possibly due to my height.

  • *cough* they call IT a ball.

  • oooo coolness i luv dances lol

  • haha wow it looks like everyone had fun!  Does everyone really know how to do Scottish dancing??  That's kinda neat...

  • my wrist is still sore, but feeling a lot better, thanks! I just emailed my piano teacher so she'll be forewarned for my lesson tomorrow.

Yep, you had the name right for Strip the Willow. I love the way we dance it with a square set!!

  • Looks fun! I wish we had dances like that where we live.

Thanks for stopping by my site, Laura! It was a nice surprise.

  • ya whenever i go to the doctor they shove this probe thing down my ear to scrape out the wax and other grose stuff, they also put a vacume thing down there as well

  • The whole weekend was such a good time.  You can guess that I'll want those first two pictures sometime.  Our camera sat in my purse  all night for some reason.

  • That looks like so much fun!  I danced for 4 hours straight on Saturday, only sat down once for about three minutes.    As soon as I am able to, I hope to post pics.  I didn't take any pictures of the dancing in action, because I danced every dance, but the father of my friend was "prowling the ballroom" all evening taking "action shots" of us so I'm hoping some of them turned out well enough to post!    I know I got a couple good pics of our costumes.  It was SUCH a blast!!  I still haven't gotten over it yet.    I haven't seen the movie you mentioned, but since you recommend it, I will look it up and see if I can find it.  Have a great week!  God bless!

  • How did you all learn???

  • Do I see Paden in there?  He and I are great friends.  I came with him to the prospective student weekend at NSA last winter.

  • I'm amazed too. I didn't even get dizzy :) It was fun

  • Yes, Fraser and Tasha do make a good couple!

  • "Jim and Laura dance 'Strip the Willow'."

Mike is glad to see that he's not the only one around here that's not afraid to occasionally employ the Third Person when referring to himself!

  • It is?

    Hey these are nice pictures!!

  • Oh my goodness!  This is my day for spotting Paden on blogs.

    Paden's mom.

  • How fun!  My husband and I went Contra dancing last week.  It was a first for both of us, and we had a blast.

  • Looks like fun!

Oh yah, it tasted alright. It kinda melted though; the consistency was more like milk ... uggg. Haha good times :)

  • yeah... we break down the pallets in a seperate room, but then into the freezer they go... man it's cold in there! =)

  • Amazing, huh? "Laurie" had been our prime "suspect" when it happened, and I just last night found out that she had been touched by the same story, and how she had responded. And the story fell into place in all its fairy tale perfection.

    God must have smiled.

  • That looks like so much fun!!! I love a good Reel! Wish I coulda been there!

  • Looks like you guys all had a great time!
