A Walk With Laura
I am SO happy! After a very long winter, we are finally having what some might call Spring! The sun started peeking through the clouds (sort of teasing us) about a week and a half ago. I took these pictures on a recent walk along our road.
A very familiar sight from October-March this year due to all of the rain, wind, and snow...
The beautiful Canadian mountains. If you look closely you can see all of the water in the field behind the barn. That is not supposed to be there, but because the ground has been so saturated over the past several months, that field now looks more like a lake.
One of our neighbors collects old trucks, tractors, etc. Usually he gets them back into running condition, but I think he gave up on this one. It's sure cute though!
This IS a picture of a lake. It's more full than usual and you can see water in the yard as well. Isn't the weeping willow beautiful?
The beautiful mountains that you see here are the Three Sisters. They are part of the Cascade Range on the U.S. side of the border.
And we are finally seeing color after a dark, dreary winter. In the next few days we should see lots more because the temperature is supposed to get up to 68 degrees. Wa-hoo!!!
With all of this gorgeous weather we are having, I have big plans of getting the garden rototilled and all of the flower beds in tip-top shape. Tomorrow we will have a bonfire going so we can burn all the prunings that I'll be cutting while tidying up the yard. And the boys will split alder for their wood business. After that we will roast hot dogs and make 'smores. The absolute best way to spend a Saturday. Wanna come join us?

water, water, everywhere, so to speak.
Have a great barbecue!
That picture of the lake is pretty. Which house is that by?
I'll be working, but not here... I'll be home in time for dinner though.
Wow, you have the most beautiful property!!!
Actually, the only picture taken of our property was the one with the daffodils. All the rest were taken down the road at different intervals (my walks are two miles in one direction; four round trip). But we do think the area here is beautiful and wouldn't trade the views for anything!
Lots and lots of water. We should go for a swim!
Beautiful!
thank you!!!
your comments always make my day
i don't know! i've never read the book, but i have heard good things about it. tis such fun to waltz around the house singing some of the songs though..... *smiles*
those pictures are beautiful......one of my favorite things to do when i'm feeling stressed or upset is just to walk around outside. it's so refreshing! *contented sigh* the picture of the barn reminds me of many pictures in our house and my grandmum's. our family seems to have a thing for landscapes with barns.
I finished Regress a few days ago myself. I've been thinking about reading it again, as I don't feel I adequately grasped the richness the first time through. But I did enjoy it, nonetheless. I think I'd rather read it again than to make another attempt at Narnia or an attempt at re-reading LotR (which I got NO sense out of the first time around!!)
I haven't had smores in ages. Sounds like a great way to end a hard day's work. Claire's daffodils and hyacinths are fading away already. My magnolia buds are ready to burst open though. They seem late. Everywhere I look I see magnolias already in full bloom.I love the colors of spring.
It's warm enough if it's above 58 degrees.
It has long intrigued me (my, doesn't *that* sound pretentious!) how many different names I've heard "Locals" use to describe that mountain: "The Sisters", "The Twin Sisters", "The Twins", "The Sleeping Giant", "Baker's Twin Sisters", and now "Three Sisters" (the one *I* know by that name is near Mt. Bachelor in Oregon).
(...I'm not really going anywhere with this; it's just one of those things that tickles at the back of my brain & occasionally come forward to pester me.)
I'm not sure what the official name is, but if you look closely, there are three peaks, so I have always thought 'Three Sisters' fit best. Whatever the name, it is a gorgeous display of God's handiwork!
Oh I agree - "your" version makes more sense to me than any of the others, and for exactly the reason you've given! Let's see... [digs out box of maps & rummages through it] ...according to the "USFS Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest" map, it is "Twin Sisters Mountain".
Okay! 'Twin Sisters' it is!
I saw it on the way to Church (Good Friday Service) this Evening...

...beautiful even from this distance!
Funny thing is, a *lot* of folks down here (Everett) think it's part of Mt. Baker.
No, dolphin.
The scenery in those pics looks beautiful.
I was supposed to respond to your asking if there were Sbarro's and Wendy's in The Bahamas. Yes, there are!
There's also McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns, Dairy Queen, TCBY, Quiznos, Subway, KFC, Outback Steakhouse, Starbucks... that's all I can think of, but there's probably more. We have LOTS of N. American stuff. Lots of N. American influence, too.
He is risen indeed!
He is risen indeed!
In the mouth of 2-3 or three witnesses you know. Not quite sure how I did that.
He is risen indeed!!!
HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!! When I received the email stating that you had commented on my blog, I thought you were going to remind me that it was time to make another post. "Today is the day which the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

HE IS RISEN, indeed! PTL!
That He is. Amen.
The music: "Good Things,"Remember Your Creator, by Lori Sealy (http://www.lorisealy.com). Sorry I forgot -- then we have been out of town. I love the pics! What beautiful scenery! And a good job with the photography.
The weather is absolutely lovely right now, cool, but not cold. Those mountains are beautiful - whereabouts do you live?

He is risen indeed!
The pictures of "water, water everywhere" remind me of when Ready_Ames_Fire and I were in Alaska last summer for 3 weeks... they had some of the worst flooding that particular county had ever experienced, and we were seeing similar sights, like fields under water.
Those are some gorgeous pics!
Well, I just felt like listening to the Beach Boys.
Pretty pictures, looks cold though! Yes, we have a different bout of sickness. We had stomach flu, then colds and fevers/coughs, and now back to the stomach flu. Not fun!
Your hyacinths and daff's are so pretty! I love Spring!
wow! Those pictures are absolutely breath-taking!
And yes, the soundtrack inspired me... I was singing the high notes from the album yesterday...but in choir today I hit a high c! it was great fun... and I didn't squeak.... I usually don't have a problem when I sleep, but I was up somewhat late last night! but thanks for the wise words,,.,, erin has not yet broken any glass.. but honestly I wouldn't mind doing it just once... when noone else is around of course! But I usually try not to do any of that! haha
Glad to see you are well.... how is the rest of the family?
woww, that is so so beautiful!!! 'specially the weeping willow
Even the name is gorgeous and romantic and sad...I love the sound of the branches, too. Somebody should make a CD of the sound they make
He is risen indeed!!!
How was your Easter Mrs. U?
Amen, how positively excellent (good for y'all!); I understand just what you mean, and definitely need to work on more memorization myself!!!
